I do prefer plain text. But, a fundamental rule of program design is

by subscribing to this list.

"Bogosity at maximum captain!" Using mail lists do *NOT* expose you to
SPAM; that isn't how SPAMers work. There have been numerous studies
about this - if you want spam (a) communicate with people who use
Outlook [and have infected machines] or (b) sign up for corporate
promotional e-mails. That is where SPAM harvesters are. Go to bing an
search "awilliam whitemice org" and e-mail address I've been using on
many lists for ~15 years. Oh my! And I included it in this message
body! And am I inundated with SPAM? No. But I am easy to find.

Not to mention this sentiment destroys the *POINT* of e-mail and other
mediums - communication! Your notions about SPAM do nothing but
diminish the value of communications and make your own life more
tedious.

Thanks to those who have helped. And thanks to any people out there
who have a sympathetic ear to what I'm saying.
Alas, there's no free lunch. You pay tons of $$ for Microsoft, or
you spend a lot of TIME trying to fix/work around/figure out all
of the things on Linux that don't work. But, please Gnome/Evolution
folks, don't thumb your noses at the customer as badly as the KDE
folks did who broke most of my favorite apps, and have yet to fix
them, years later. KDE is still unusable for me as a desktop
environment.
My turn to rant, then =). You, I, and almost all users of Evolution are
not customers. Get that word out of your head and you'll see things in
Linux much more clearly.

+1

And GNOME isn't KDE, if you don't like KDE complain about it on KDE
lists.
