I tried compiling everything from source (MAPI branch), and everything
was going really well except I couldn't get evolution to "find"
libmapi/MAPI on ./configure. I got samba4 compiled/installed, and
libmapi, but again when compiling evolution I couldn't figure out how
to get evolution to realize MAPI libs were available and include it.
Any help there would be good too.

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=<your samba prefix here>/lib/pkgconfig:$PKG_CONFIG_PATH

before running configure.
If you did not use Julien's script to build and install samba, make
sure you've also run ldconfig on the <samba prefix>/lib directory.

Thanks for all the help so far. I will try and get it building
correctly on Ubuntu as I know there are many out there trying to get
it working + it would open up many more testers!

I am now testing from a fresh openSUSE 11 install. I can see all my
folders, and the folders/mail download correctly. However, when
browsing between inbox folders, it wants to completely re-download the
entire folder every time... this means a 1-2+ minute wait just to
look/swicth from one folder to another. Also the selected folder name
still shows as "(null)" right beneath the New Mail button. Might be
related.

Contacts/GAL not working with this response:

(evolution:4576): evolution-addressbook-WARNING **: error loading
addressbook : e_book_new: no factories available for URI
`galldap://trisinger 10 0 0 10/;Global Address List'

(evolution:4576): evolution-addressbook-WARNING **: error loading
addressbook : e_book_new: no factories available for URI
`mapi://trisinger 10 0 0 10/;Contacts'

Neither are Calendars.

Everytime I restart evolution my calendar get deselcted. It did throw
an error at one point very similar to the one for contacts but I can't
seem to get it to do that again. I tried exporting PATH and
LD_LIBRARY_PATH like I had to for Ubuntu but at no avail.

I'm using RPM's dated 7/(18-21)/08 from:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/msuman:/evolution-mapi-provider/openSUSE_11.0/i586/

I've never worked with openSUSE or RPM's before so let me know if I'm
missing something mundane here.
