It takes about 1-2 seconds to select messages in any folder - it's not a
lengthy time, but it is independent of folder size, network location,
link speed etc. I can't see how it would be a 32/64-bit issue, but you
never know with computers! :-)
Just to confirm that I see this as well since I upgraded to Ubuntu Intrepid (now at Evolution 2.24.2).
Definitely much slower than before, but less than 2 seconds I would say. What is most annoying about it is that it seems to lose the keystrokes that are typed before the selection is complete (usually DEL in this case).
