Handy tip:

"--force-shutdown" just spawns ${libexec}/evolution/2.12/killev.
Calling killev directly doesn't require a display.

That's useful to know.

In earlier incarnations of Evo, the recommendation was to run "killev",
since this was also installed as a command. Why was this changed?
