Re: [Evolution] duplicate inbox

Thank you for ALL the various responses.

Yes I KNOW deleting the.evolution directory and folders does delete settings.

I am trying to solve this problem. It is easy enough to import
addressbooks and redo signatures, calendars, etc.. What I really want to
get the software functioning properly.

All suggestions and ideas do help! Please keep them coming and do not
start a verbal war over the problem.

The problem is definitely some setting within Evolution. I can use
Thunderbird and everything displays properly.

Thank you
Bob Cataldo

1) Remove ,evolution

Please, oh please, stop suggesting the user to fuck with his
important
data. With the above comments in mind, sounds like you want him to
clear
the IMAP cache. This is *not* the correct way.

bah, he already knew about the data in his .evolution
when he cleared it in the first place even before he asked
here(hint- read mail thread).

No. He mentioned he already removed ~/.evolution, but he did not
mention
he knows about other potential data loss.

Remember, this is not a private conversation between the both of you.
Others have participated as well, to solve this. And a lot of folks
just
read it, getting the impression it is save to do so -- which it isn't.

The comments through mail
given are almost comments on the bug. *They are for
testing purposes to find the real problem*.

If you're commenting on bugs, do so in bugzilla -- but don't in here.
That's what bugzilla is for, keeping detailed track of the bugs status.
Do not expect every single one of us to track both the list and every
single bug in bugzilla. At a minimum, mention the bug number in the
thread.

Its perfectly clear when he filed a bug and through
the various discussions on the mail thread.

p.s: If you want to vent take it elsewhere.
We work in a seemingly polite world here...

I haven't been impolite. And don't tell /me/ how it is on the Evo
lists.

I'm here to help. And unlike you, I'm doing this voluntarily in my
spare
time. Which obviously does not affect /my/ comments being informative
and detailed. [1]

If you want me to leave, say so.

Either way, I will take the freedom to participate in the community,
help complete strangers fixing their issues (cause I do believe in
this)
and venting once in a while if need be. Deal with it.

[1] I have been getting a lot of private responses by users who just
managed to fix their issues due to long-ago archived posts I hardly
could remember.
