When I installed Evolution and set up my preferences, the software
displays 2 duplicate inboxes. If I delete one of them, all my e-mails
are deleted in the second inbox.( good thing I saves a copy locally )
Where in the mail tree are those Inboxes *exactly*?
the folders are under:
mail.work.com <-THIS IS THE IMAP MAIL NAME I USED ->
Inbox
Inbox
Do those two "Inbox" named folders have *different* icons next to it?
I suspect yes. Which means, the one with the special Icon is the Inbox
as advertised by your IMAP server, being displayed here (right next to
your account node) by Evolution. The other one with a plain icon
probably is your physical Inbox folder, which in this case happens to
live in your IMAP namespace.
FWIW, the Inbox often is in a separate place, like
/var/spool/mail/$USER, whereas all other mail folders are inside the
users $HOME.
Deleted Items
Drafts
Junk E-mail
Outbox
Public Folders
Sent
Trash
I do not use the folders under On This Computer which also has an inbox
( empty ).
