You would get this if the libcamelexchange.so is not getting loaded. Not
sure why it would fail for you. This comes as part of the ximian-
connector package.

Well, you could try setting up your account using the ximian-connector-
setup binary. Also, if things still fail, you could get some debugging
traces by exporting E2K_DEBUG=4 and starting evolution-exchange-storage
in a separate terminal. Also, try reading through some bugs filed in
bugzilla for "connector" product and see if others have already filed a
bug for the kind of error you see.
