There should be a checkbox in the account editor for the Maildir account
saying "Apply filters to INBOX" or some such... is that checked? If not,
toggle it.
If it *is* toggled, then maybe it is a bug? *shrug*

Yeah, I tried that, didn't work. Like before, I deleted all the
filters, then established new ones from scratch. Now it's working
correctly. I would guess there's an underlying link that gets created
that tells the filter rule where the source of the mails are located
it's supposed to filter, i.e, Inbox. When you recreate from scratch,
you undoubtedly create another link, only this time it's the folder
holding the mail that you make the rule from. ( That sounds clear as
mud...) A normal rule would link from Inbox. My new rule will be
linked from Procmail. At least that's my guess. But it now working
fine.
Thanks, Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey,
Well, I am receiving my mail under the main heading Procmail. (
Summary, Local Folders,Other Contacts,Procmail,VFolders)
None of the filter rules are working from this folder, so I need a way
to redirect incoming mail to my normal Inbox, or else I need to be able
to tell the filter rule where incoming mail is -now- coming in, and
apply the rules from that folder. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Robert
<snip>
Regarding my last email, a new account has been set up, called
Procmail.
That is the only account set up in Evo. Everything seems to be
working, I fetched my mail, and it all arrived under the Folder called
"Procmail". There's a little ""envelope" graphic there with the amount
of messages in this box. As we discussed, it points to
/home/robert/Maildir/, where Procmail deposits everything.
It appears, although I have to test some more, that it correctly
filtered my mail, as I have your letter in both the Procmail folder and
the Evolution folder.
If I am to assume we have resolved this issue, it would appear, based
on that fact, that Evo did get confused dealing with two different types
of accounts, and for that reason never set up the "Procmail" folder
correctly, as you maintained that it should have.
It was only after wiping everything out and starting over with the
"First Time Wizard" did Evo get it right.
I am hoping that this is the end of this thread. ( You too, probably
;-) )
phew :-)
glad it's working better for you now
With that in mind, I sincerely thank you for all your efforts,
suggestions and patience throughout this ordeal. I greatly appreciate
everything.
no problem.
Cheers ( hope your SuperBowl team wins )
Robert
I haven't really been watching it, just got finished playing Blood Rayne
for the past few hours :-)
