Hrrm. :-) Well, I checked that. No code changes in the version I'm
using, just Debian control files.
Well, seriously ... i'm thinking of getting an smp machine sometime
soon, so perhaps i can have a better go at chasing these issues up.

but i'm not entirely confident of the code, wrt
compilation optimisations and whatnot (possibly needs a few volatile's
thrown around in certain places).
You're probably right. Evolution seems more stable now that I compiled
it with -g. That happened last time too, although eventually I got it to
crash.
-g doesn't affect optimisation on gcc at least.
