Also 7947 bytes for me. Also tried ggv which failed as well. Only xpdf could read it, after mentioning "Error (0): PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table..." I think maybe the problem is that it is being sent as a plaintext attachment, rather than application/pdf? When I attach a document, Evolution (or more properly, GNOME) is correctly identifying the file type--see attachment below (sorry--it's the only PDF on my disk that I'm sure I have the right to redistribute!). If this is indeed the root of the problem, then you need to go into your GNOME 1.x configuration (gnomecc) and find the "File Types and Programs" section. When there, click "Add New MIME Type", and in the window that pops up, type "application/pdf" for the type, and something like "PDF Document" for the description. After clicking OK, the new type should already be selected in the list (make sure it is). You're not done yet. Now, click "Change File Extensions", then "Add", then type "pdf", click OK, and try attaching a PDF file again through Evolution. If it doesn't work, try restarting Evolution... but I don't think that's necessary. If you didn't understand my instructions, ask and I will try to clarify. If it still doesn't work, then I dunno... good luck Eric On Wed, 2003-02-26 at 12:37, Dan Stromberg wrote:
