Re: [Evolution] My IMAP inbox isn't recognized, but its subfolders are

I *am* subscribed to my INBOX. So sayeth every IMAP client I've ever used
(up to and including Evolution 1.0.8).

. OK User logged in
. LSUB "" "*"
* LSUB (\HasChildren) "." "INBOX"
* LSUB () "." "INBOX.Drafts"
* LSUB () "." "INBOX.Trash"
* LSUB () "." "INBOX.admin"
[and so on and so forth]
. OK Completed (0.000 secs 25 calls)

I'm no IMAP expert, but because INBOX is returned when I do an LSUB,
doesn't that indicate that I'm subscribed? Also, I couldn't see the
subfolders if I wasn't subscribed to the parent folder, right?

I'm using Squirrelmail currently, so I go to "Folders" to check my
subscription and I'm not even given the option to unsubscribe from my
Inbox, so (again) doesn't this mean I'm subscribed to it?

Non-trivial or not, this is an important bug and could potentially cause
many first time users to assume Evolution is broken because, in regards to
this one issue, it is.

it's a non-trivial fix, it will require architectural changes (some of
which have already been made but I wasn't able to finish them in time
for 1.2, perhaps it will be done for 1.4)

You'll also need to restart evolution once you do. Jeff that part
definitely seems like something worth fixing.

This seems to be a common problem... you need to subscribe to your
INBOX or else your server tells Evolution that the folder is not
selectable.
