The only way I can get around this is deleting my account
before changing the password on the imap server and then
creating with a new password. That's inconvenient.
I'll file it as a bug then, any chance it will get fixed soon?
you can always delete the line in ~/evolution/private/config.xmldb
corresponding to your account. this should make evo forget.
