Re: [Evolution] mail filters

You're still being unclear or else you're not understanding filter
logic.

First, there is a difference between "delete" and "expunge", perhaps
that's why you are confused. "Delete" just sets a flag on the message
while "Expunge" actually removes it from the mailbox completely.

The message gets moved, but does not get marked for deletion. Adding an
action to specifically delete them does not work either. Sorry for being
unclear.

Uh, if they get moved then the filter is working correctly. Am I somehow
misunderstanding you?

A MOVE action will copy the message to the desired folder, then mark the
message as deleted in the original folder. When you mark the message as
deleted ,it just marks the message as deleted in the original folder.
Thus the mark-as-delete action is doing nothing more for you than just
the MOVE.

I'm having trouble using the mail filters. I've set up a filter that
will move any message that's older than a month to the trash folder. I
highlight the messages and than apply the filters. The messages get
moved but not deleted. I've also tried adding an action to specifically
delete them with the same results. Is this a bug or am I not using the
filters correctly. I have RH 7 with the cvs200103070905 snapshot.
thanks,
