Re: [Evolution] can't authentificate on pop3 accounts

Is the password given with the PASS command correct? It should be plain
text...

I'm wondering if maybe the POP daemon is expecting the password to be in
quotes (or perhaps hex encoded for all/part of the password?) since it
contains (perhaps) illegal chars?
I dunno, I'm just guessing here.

I can check the RFCs if the password is correct to see if we need to do
that.

If it's incorrect, then is it giving just random junk? is it giving a
password to one of your other pop accounts? is it chopping off part of
the correct password?

Hmm, you could try snooping the network to see WHAT it is sending as the
password perhaps?

It could be some sort of inter-thread problem, Jeff, any ideas?

ok, here it is

I've enabled those 2 accounts again and it worked fine for a while.
But then one of them start saying bad login (password was set to
be remembered, so I didn't entered a wrong one), and keeps saying
that after I enter the password in the prompt. Netscape works.

sending : USER marius
received: +OK User name accepted, password please
sending : PASS xxxx
received: -ERR Bad login

Hmm, how helpful is this? Talked with our sysadmin, the remote server
is working fine, we believe evolution is sending the password bad.
(it's mixed case, letters, numbers and punctuation marks)
