Whats that? "like outlook" doesn't mean anything to me.

Outlook has a feature which allows you to to put the sender of the
selected message (or maye senders of the currently selected messages, I
can't remember) into the Junk Mail rule with one click. You can do
something similar with Evolution but first you have to select Create
Rule -> Filter on Sender and then you have to click on add action and
then you have to modify the action to be what you want (move to folder,
for example, which requires you to also select the destination folder)
and then you hit OK. So it is a lot more work to do and futher, you end
up generating a seperate filter each time you do this. Outlook just
adds the sender to the existing Junk mail rule. I've hand edited the
XML of the filters to combine a bunch of such rules into one but this
isn't a very convenient way to go. What I would like better is a way to
specifiy a default set of actions for a Junk mail rule and a one-click
way to put the current sender (or perhaps the current sender's domain)
into the Junk mail filter (as another condition). That way, it would be
easy to build up a useful spam filter. And the resulting filter could
be translated from the XML to, say, a procmail filter if you wanted to
move to server side spam filtering. The nice thing about having a
one-click way in Evolution is that it makes it easy to update the
filtering rules while you are reading your email, rather that having to
remember to update a rule set later in a different program, or going
through too many steps as it is now.
Scott.
