Daniel Persson seems to have had the same problem. Dan Winship suggested
configuring with --sysconfidr set appropriately. I tried this, and it
works!

May I suggest making the documentation clearer? It only said to watch
out for the --prefix parameter (or, that's all that was obvious to me
from reading the docs).
