[Evolution] Additional Features

Okay, here are additional features that have been added to my list

******Begin Additional Feature Requests********

Feature: Ability to define a standard set of alarms
Description: I may always want an alarm to send a message to the email
address that pages my phone, I don't want to have to constantly retype it.
Requested by: Mark Tearle [mark tearle com]

Feature: Get public keys from a keyserver
Description: Check to see if a mail recipient has a public encryption key on
local contact box, if not, check for one on a keyserver, otherwise send the
mail unencrypted [alternatively send a message to the recipient requesting
that they get an encryption key...]
Submitted by: Nathan Thompson-Amato [ndt jps net] [and others...]

Feature: 'Common properties' filter construction
Description: Have a filter 'guess' the method for filtering based on the
common properties of emails dragged to a folder
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: More powerful filter syntax
Description: add common expression options such as not, inclusive or,
exclusive or, etc.
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: Unread email filter/vFolder
Description: a filter to a vFolder for unread mail
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: Unreplied email filter/vFolder
Description: a filter to a vFolder for unreplied mail
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: Undealt with email filter/vFolder
Description: a filter to a vFolder for undealt with mail
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: Time based email filter/vFolder
Description: a filter to a vFolder based on the time (range) the email was
sent or received
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: addition of a 'dealt with' mail state
Description: a mail attribute that a mail has been 'dealt with' - i.e. the
action that was appropriate for the mail has occurred, although a reply may
not have been necessary
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: hide read (or unread) email messages [these should probably merge
into a 'hide based on a message attribute']
Description: The ability to hide read (or unread) email messages
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: hide replied to (or unreplied to) email messages
Description: The ability to hide replied to (or unreplied to) email messages
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: hide 'dealt with' (or undealt with) email messages
Description: The ability to 'dealt with' (or undealt with) email messages
Requested by: Ryan Heise [ryan whitewolf com au]

Feature: Report Generator
Description: Generate a report on activity with a specific client (i.e. a
task list log could be associated with billing information for lawyers and
other hourly work), or leads, referrals, etc. a client has generated, or
activity histories with a client, etc.
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Help linked to IRC [This would be useful for all Gnome help]
Description: If you don't quickly find the explanation you are looking for,
you can click a button that will take you to an Evolution Help - IRC channel
and submit your previous queries (Or the previous queries can be
autosubmitted if you allow it...). The IRC person will answer your
question, and the query and answer will be added to the help file. [probably
after clean up and review by who ever manages the help files...] (I would
have the tech support from the various companies hang out there as well,
they will quickly find it worthwhile to have all of their users query that
way, then they won't have to answer the same question a bazillion times.)
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Time log
Description: a log would be generated from the different tasks performed for
a client [based on the time taken to complete the task which could be
prompted for when closing out the task...], giving the 'total billable'
hours of that client.
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: visually directed help [Useful for all Gnome help]
Description: Once a user has identified the proper help request. They can
click on a 'Begin' button. The help screen will shrink/disappear, and
instead a pointer saying click here, or enter text here will appear at each
step in the process. [Making a program that captures the actions as a
macro, and then generates the dialogs and pointers should be relatively
trivial].
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Spoken Help [Useful for all Gnome help]
Description: When a help is requested, instead of having to constantly refer
back to the help document, the help will be spoken aloud, directing you to
the next action. [Would work very well with the above]
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Voice commands [Useful for all Gnome]
Description: Speaking aloud predefined will make Evolution perform
predefined tasks. For instance 'Help - How do I change the font size?'
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Autoupdate [Useful for all Gnome]
Description: A user preference can be predefined to automatically run
helixgnome update to check for any improvements or bug/security fixes, and
to download them if they exist. [Yeah, I know this would be trivial to
script, but many users probably wouldn't know how to script it
themselves...]
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Outgoing mail prioritizer
Description: Instead of having all mail go into a que, there should be an
option to specify some to go out immediately upon completion, or to be
specially delayed. Or go into the queue.
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Send immediately button
Description: an additional button on mail to send it immediately, as opposed
to placing it in the queue. [Possibly menu choice by right clicking on the
send button]
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Drag mails to vFolders
Description: Support addition of emails to vFolders by dragging them to the
vFolder as you would a regular folder.
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]

Feature: Exception rules for filters
Description: allow users to specify a rule to exclude mail from a vFolder
Submitted by: Tom Musgrove [TomM pentstar com]
