No, you can post to folders on other stores as well, only absolute URLs will be shown. So if you have an e-mail account selected, and you select a NNTP folder with the selector, the entry will show 'nntp://meilof news wanadoo nl/alt.testing.it" rather than just "alt.testing.it". Of course, if you manually enter "alt.testing.it", it would try to append the message to a local e-mail folder with that name.

If you use the "Post new message" menu items or reply button or anything, the NNTP account will automagically be chosen as the "From" account, so that should work rather intuitively.

If you switch accounts, and you haven't done any manual editing of the selection, the composer will make sure that relative urls will be made absolute, and absolute urls relative if possible.

Hmmm... good point... it just uses the account you have currently selected, but that shouldn't be a problem, should it? Because the newsgroup store is an e-mail provider, you can set preferences for sending mail for it as well, so the mail /will/ be delivered if you send it from your NNTP account... I wouldn't know an other way to do this...
