/Hey Toumas,

Do you have any thoughts on this as for the ui (i.e. is this change ok)?
Dan? Does this affect posting to public folders in exchange?

Hello

For my NNTP patch, I have, per request, done some changes in the Post-To header for the composer.

I changed the current folder selection button into a normal entry with a button to the left of it which brings up the folder tree selector. Though I cannot submit a patch at the moment (other PC), I would like to have some comments on the way I implemented it:/

So it is like this?

Post To: [ Add folder ] [ alt.support.gnome.recovery, saved-news-postings ]

So the "Add folder" can be used several times to add stuff?

It's more like the "To" header, so the Post-to label is actually a button you click on to have the folder tree show up. I hacked the folder tree to optionally support multiple folder selection, so it is used to edit your complete selection. To give you an idea:

Could it autocomplete from the newsgroup list and folders? That would be awesome. Otherwise it looks nice.

It doesn't do that yet. I currently have some other issues in the code that need looking after, but after that I could look into how difficult that would be.

*Btw, *I wonder if there would need to be a clearer way to select the news server than via the "news account".. How does it show up btw? You are likely going to have the same email address on both, so does it show up somehow differently in the From: -list? Or does the "Post message" composer show only news-and-connector accounts?

As the screenshot shows, apparently when you have two equal e-mail addresses, the "From" chooser automagically appends the account name, so that's no problem.

Also, is it a bad idea to have also the Cc: field viewable through the View-menu? I think some apps allow you to cc: a mail account while sending to newsgroups? I dont know if that is crack though, is it a good ide?

You can do that. In fact, you can show the "To" and "BCC" fields as well. The newsgroup append method will make sure they don't show up in the news message headers.
