Hi Matthew,
2006/11/12, Matthew Paul Thomas <mpt myrealbox com>:
For the same reason that it's better to view an HTML page in the
browser than to open a dedicated viewer for it: fewer clicks required.
Given that a PDF viewer is installed correctly, the number of clicks
required is identical in both cases. Only when the default Epiphany
preference for automatically downloading & opening is disabled it
requires one more click.
(For most of the PDFs I read, I have no interest in keeping them, so
saving a copy anywhere other than my browser cache is a waste of time.)
That's a matter of opinion. Personally I do have interest in keeping
most PDFs I read, so not having to explicitly download or save them
after a cursory view saves me a few clicks.
regards,
