You also need to add --enable-v4l in ptlib to enable v4l, since by default
it is not activated (cf.
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Compiling_Ekiga#PTLib_2).

Chris and Eugen,

thanks for the help.  I am clearly (still) missing a lot of packages
to make a truly functional version of ekiga on Knoppix, but things are
moving forward a bit.  (**sigh** 10 minutes on Slackware, multiple
hours and counting on Knoppix...)

It now sees both of my web cams (although it seems to be using V4L and
not V4L2 for my QuickCam Notebook Pro), which is a huge step forward.
It doesn't see that web cam's built-in mic, but it does see the
laptop's mic.
