I'm sorry to bug again, but this issue is not solved for me yet. The
thing is that I can hear Ekiga's echo test if and only if I allow codec
PCMA, regardless of the order in which I put them in the list. The
problem is that I cannot make a landline call if I have PCMA allowed
(actually, the only ones I found I could allow are gsm and PCMU) because
of the PDU problem. Therefore I can not have at the same time a
configuration that would allow to connect to Ekiga's echo test and a
landline, that per se is not bad, since I can change codecs before
making a call (still I'd like to understand why this behavior though),
but the problem is that I'm trying to troubleshoot connecting with my
family that are on a windows machine running messenger 5.1 and I don't
know if the problem is on my end or theirs. So my question is:

The list of codecs I have available now are:

gsm, ms-gsm, iLBC, PCMU, PCMA, G722, G726-16, G726-24, G726-32, G726-40,
Speex-16, Speex-8

which I use only gsm for a landline call and only PCMA for an echo test
(though I check all of them in the latter case)

Should I install another codec to get a configuration that I can use for
both landline calls and ekiga's echo test at the same time?

Thanks,

R.
