Yeah, sorry, didn't mention that. The ppa-version has slightly older
autotools scripts, I just wanted to get a quick Gtk+ 3 build underway.
The correct detection is in the github fork[1] gtk3 branch.
Alternatively I made a tarball[2] for testing and uploaded onto my website.
