I downloaded easytag_2.1.7+gtk3.orig.tar.bz2 from the link you gave, and
tried to compile it on my Slackware 13.0 ("old" version, but runs so well
that I hesitate to upgrade).
configure aborts with:
checking for GTK... configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-3.0 >=
2.12.0 glib-2.0 >= 2.8.0) were not met: No package 'gtk+-3.0' found
If I understood correctly it should still compile with GTK+2? The
corresponding package versions on my system are gtk+2-2.14.7 and
glib2-2.22.4 .
