I have a few questions:
How do you see this menu structure interacting with the existing two
menu options?
Are you proposing that we replace our currently three menu structure
with the single one of the gnome-main-menu?
Do you propose to have it as an option?
If it is to be the latter choice, how do you see this interacting with
the existing single "Main Menu"?
Does it replace it or sit alongside it?
IMO, it should replace the menu applet currently in gnome-panel, they
serve the same purpose but slab has a much better look and a few extra
features that make it quite useful, so if I were decide, I would include
slab in the panel, to replace the current menu
I dont mind if this is added as an optional menu but if its being
designed to replace the main menu then I would require one change:
Having looked at the source, slab is currently hardcoded to use Beagle
if its available. However there is no easy way to allow me to offer
tracker as a search service to this.
It would be nice therefore if you could use GModule or dlopen to load in
such a search service and move the hardcoded beagle stuff there.
It would be silly if tracker got into Gnome but couldn't be used in the
cool new slab menu!
and it also means I dont have to fork your stuff too :)
