I did contribute a lot of the code and knowledge to cdrdao.

At some time Andreas Mueller decided not to collaborate anymore and to compete 
with cdrtools. If you like to change this, you are welcome but it is obvious 
that you need to do the first step. 

If you like verify that you are really interested, you could e.g. upgrade to a 
recent libscg......

BTW: writing nonsense about the red book specs does not make you look serious.
