before I posted on the list, but it didn't answer my questions,

Yes, but there is something of a circular logic to that. I want to find
out whether Banshee will meet my needs before I invest time in installing
it, learning to use it, and possibly removing it (or trying to) if it
doesn't. But I can't access the information that'd tell me whether or not
I want to install it unless I do the install :-(
