Mathijs, I went to the site you suggested and began the download (again)/
install process using these instructions.
They do not work.
The directory /opt, in which I am to copy the mp3 codec to is EMPTY in
openSuse 11.2.
So Gnome is not there and gstreamer is not there, etc.
I have searched in terminal and yast and cannot find a path for
gnome/lib/gstreamer-0.10.

Next suggestion?

Euhm, how about follwing these instructions to install the codec:
