The problem is here.  This is essentially the pipeline that was
originally in Banshee, but is now disabled.  There was a problem in
the interaction between ffmux_mp4 and Banshee's GStreamer usage
(which, as far as I could tell, was correct) which prevented this
pipeline from connecting properly.

This may now be resolved in ffmux_mp4.  Alternatively, I believe
there's a qtmux plugin nearing completion, which will mux to mp4
without the awkward ffmpeg interface.  If you'd like to try messing
with an AAC profile, you can find Banshee's profiles in
/usr/share/banshee-1/audio-profiles - they're fairly simple XML +
S-expressions.
