I reply the original e-mail describing the problem (many months ago) and putting a solution. I repeat the problem and a solution found here.
The problem:When using STL list template, the "list" symbols appears to be duplicated in some function's parameters names.
The headers are: "valid.h" and "xmlregexp.h" The solution worked for me under win32 and vc6:Substitute all "list" parameters names replacing it by "_list" (for example).
Notes: I don't know if this change could affect to another platforms. Are only 2 or 3 functions in each header. Thanks and sorry (again) for my english. Regards Daniel Veillard wrote:

Do whatever you can to make this easier and it will be fixed faster ! It is open-source, we usually take patches, there is a bugzilla, etc ... Trying to work with an OSS project by just asking "when is my problem then noone else is seeing gonna be fixed ?" very unlikely to be effective. List the headers, list the changes needed, provide a patch, use bugzilla, those steps might have actually got your problem fixed by 2.6.22 . Without those you're just waiting for someone else to consider this important and fix it for you, since it's not even in bugzilla or on a platform that I use there is zero chances that I would do it myself, and the only other answer you got on the list was clearly it was not libxml2 project problem... Open source is a *process*, follow the process ... Daniel
