Just saw your post right now. I'll post a more complete answer tomorrow. For
now, I just wanted to say that your example code works fine on my machine.

I didn't tried your Makefile, I used the example Makefile that you can grab at:
http://blitzen.sourceforge.net/tutorial/part1/Makefile

Using this Makefile, you can build and deploy any application. Just don't forget
to make deploy after the build (as root).

Should work for you as well.
