Re: [Vala] Generating API errors

Thank you, gnome2-globalmenu really does have API which i need.

I'm still quite new to Vala, so i will definitively have to learn more
about Vala core.

I have one more question for you, if you don't mind. I come from Java world
and I'm used to high-quality code-completion and editors. What is your
experience? Will I have to go only with Gedit/Vim/Emacs? I have tried those
IDEs/editors recommended on Vala homepage, but they're all terribly
unstable/don't have basic features. What do you use?

Thanks,
but i don't have vapi for libbonobo, even if i have libbonobo-dev
package installed. I'd say this means, that this binding has not been
created yet. Thus my only choice is to generate it myself. Am I
correct?

My question is, where can i request to add this bindings to official
Vala distribution?

You could enter a bug request for the fixes, but I presume there are
more pressing matters and you'll have to wait a while. You might also
take a look at the global menu project. It's written in vala and
provides a fairly complex applet. At a glance, it's got a bit more
content in the provided libpannel-applet vapi.. perhaps it's enough for
you. otherwise, I'd take the time to learn to write vapi. I'm certainly
no expert, but with persistance, I was able to pick it up enough that
I'm successfully writing code against even non glib based libraries.
And, you know what they say.. "If I can do it, any one can"
