Hi,
my name is Salvatore P. (sp82), I am a student and I live in Italy. I wanted to take part to this mailing list because I'd like to suggest some of my ideas, I think they could be usefull in order to increase the use of workspaces. I didn't know exatly which mailing list I could address to, nautilus, desktop-devel, usability or freedesktop, I hope I made the best choice!
Now, I'd like to tell you about the idea: the desktop is always full of icons and changing workspaces the icons are always there; to have real workspaces instead of virtual workspaces could be confortable because all the workspaces are linked with a own desktop-folder and a own background (and Themes!!!).
ES:
desk1 -> /home/user/Desktops/1/
desk2 -> /home/user/Desktops/2/
..etc..
Generally the workspaces are a logic subdivision of the opened windows, But with a system like this we could have a thematic division of the work that are runnig in the workspaces. In additional, we could create a workgroup linked with a common topic (job, freetime, games, ecc..).
But there's a problem: deleting a workspaces, what will happen? and the files? must I delete them or moved?
Thank you for the attention,
Bye :)
sp82.
