nope - that would require gconf support. Then again waiting for
gtksettings/dconf might be better?
in any event it would be easy to add different compile time backends as
the config is now nicely abstracted

TrackerConfiguration API.

As for using tracker-config, Im really not a fan of tracker-config and would
prefer tracker-configuration.
Can I ask why?
The TrackerConfiguration API is far easier to maintain. Rather than having
functions for every single option, its a simple, generic API.
While we are talking about configuration, I wanted to add some ideas
and requests that were brought to me by Debian users.
They are looking for a way to set tracker options system wide (via
/etc/xdg/) and possibly a way to lock down certain options.
Would something like this be possible with the current architecture?
