Hello John,

The ongoing work on sawfish requires us to do add some needed
functionality into rep-gtk. The details of those changes are listed
here:

  http://sawfish.wikia.com/wiki/A11y_changes_(Sawfish/Rep)

But one of our developers, Christopher Bratusek, would like to do
some cleanup in rep-gtk (like removing unused variables). And perhaps
making a new release.

So I want to ask for your permission to work on rep-gtk.

Looking forward to receive your answer.

I already asked him and his answer was "yes, sure".

My current TODO list for rep-gtk 0.18.1:

- extensive testing of the a11y patch

** Only commit the sawfish-part of that patch _AFTER_ we released rep-gtk with that patch ! **
(else sawfish-ui won't startup since it will be looking for atk-functions not available in unpatched rep-gtk)

- code cleanup (both rep and rep-gtk)
- bump gtk+ req to 2.6 (aswell as glib and gdk)
- bump gtk+ req in order to be able to drop an function which has been removed in gtk+-2.5x -> gentoo does that already
- add a new widget: Status-Icon (aka. Panel-Notification-Area-Icon) -> patch found on this mailing-list
- try to fixup rep-glade -> I now know what function is broken, _perhaps_ I can do something
- update the glade-files in example/ to the glade-2 platform (easy-task)
- add example for the Status-Icon (it's shipped with the patch)
- install example/* in $DESTDIR/@prefix@/share/doc/rep-gtk- version@
- add a rep-gtk.pc file for easier version checking
- rework configure.in

I'll guess rep-gtk 0.18.1 to be ready in 2-4 weeks.

Chris
