If you can figure out the user agent header of the Humax, try adding it
to the force-downgrade-for configuration option.
You probably need a packet capture to find the agent:

I wonder if there is any solution to my problem with the server not
being found although the network is found.
Router:
IP Address 192.168.1.1
DHCP On
IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Humax
IP 192.168.1.4
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Gateway and DNS both 192.168.1.1
The humax is a DNLA client. The TV is connected to the humax via
hdmi.

I have installed Rygel because I thought I needed a DNLA device.
After
installing rygel the network has been found by the Humax HDR-FOX
T2.
When I try to go into the network via the Humax to look at the
recordings available on the ubuntu 12.041 machine no server is
found.
Not sure about your setup. Which of the devices is DLNA capable?
The TV
or the Humax?
