Do you have a timeline for this?

The problem I have is that mpg files are streamed without transcoding to
the PS3. On the other hand, avi files are transcoded. I would assume
that the PS3 can recognize dlna compliant files but mp4 files are also
transcoded. How can I find out what is going on?

I saw you had trouble with a very high bitrate. Doing some tests, it
seems that the maximum bitrate allowed is 8668kbps.
