Any music purchased after January 2009 is fine. (This was when Apple
turned every song into high-quality, non-locked music files).
Any music bought before then may be locked to your iTunes account.
There are two ways to unlock it:
1. Burn it to a CD and reimport it in Linux. A lot of work.
2. Use iTunes to convert all of your account-locked music to
non-locked music. (If I recall, this is by going to the iTunes Store
home page, and clicking on Upgrade My Library under the Quick Links
heading.)
However, #2 will cost you a bit of extra money to update your old
songs. Might not be worth it if your library is huge.
