What about using xdg-open instead of nautilus? Or perhaps there's even
a function for it. Try python-xdg then.

python-xdg doesn't seem to have such function, so I'm trying the other
version but, are xdg-utils (the one that has xdg-open) installed by
default in the major distros?

I think this plugin would be very usefull.

However, I agree that it should be file-manager indipendent.

For exemple I use thunar (xfce4) and I would like to use it in order to surf on my library.

enjoy, ;)
