There are also quite some apps that quit when you press the "X".
IMHO there should be a guideline and then all apps should be fixed
accordingly.

Yes, but some of these apps don't have a Ctrl+W. And in that respect
they are inconsistent.
However, it would be nice to have this fixed and follow what seems
to be the most common occurrence for now.
