Yep, sorry, you're right I was missing the "uri=" part, but you
probably found the correct version on the bug.

There's no direct way in rhythmbox/gstreamer as of yet, but the
ex-falso tag editor that is part of Quod Libet:

has a plugin that will remove APE tags, I believe.  Fedora Extras has
the quodlibet package.  Perhaps it's also been packaged for Ubuntu...?
