Yes, I think distributors should be able to deal with packaging a
minor new, standalone dependency between now and 3.14.0. They might of
course uncover some problems while doing so (e.g. - does it build/work
on arm or ppc ?), so letting them know asap on the distributor-list
would be a good idea.
