Re: [orca-list] Disable Row/Column announcements.

Not unless the orca-git AUR package for Arch is keeping up with the commits to master. I took a peek at both the one in the Arch repos, 42.2 and the AUR package, which seems to be an older version at 40.0

I can build from source if there's any Arch specific instructions, but that does make me ask if you are maintaining the AUR version or if that needs flagging as out of date however. How different is building on Arch vs Ubuntu since on my Solus laptop it's not possible to build Orca from source

Very easy. It's what I did. Are you able to test Orca master?

I was caught off guard by it in 42.2 yes, I spent a good few minutes

Looking over my Firefox settings, I have the boxes unticked for
announcing the row/column and headers, so how easy would it be to
make
the row and column announcing respect that setting in the app
specific
bit of Orca's preferences?

Thanks for the quick replies! In terms of testing, you can now give
this a try in Orca master. Mind doing so?

The other thing I need to figure out is what to do about the stable
branch. I foolishly figured that I was fixing a reported bug rather
than making people miserable. *grins* So this new presentation
landed
in Orca 42.2. Oops. Live and learn. Anyhow, based on the feedback
here,
my choices are revert that change or make it governed by the
structural
navigation settings. Or come up with a third idea that does not
involve
new settings, new strings, new UI, etc. And once a decision has
been
made, roll out a 42.3 apology release.

hello,

I think we need more information when you sail in table mode (Alt

I don’t have any problem with these settings applying to both
