on most EFI systems you can change boot order and other settings from
working linux system with efibootmgr tool, but I don't know such tools
for windows, but they may exist.
on EFI system grub may need manual configuration to display windows in
it's menu because by default it don't tries to detect other oses in EFI
mode.
however, configuration with grub menu on startup with beep and endless
timeout is better because you will be able to boot other system if one
of them become unbootable.
