Yep, i've reinstalled my system two weeks ago, so it's not a
config bug.

Actually, yes. I pressed control+alt+tab and the desktop was focused. That does make things just a bit easier. control+alt+escape and even control+alt+d seem to work just as well, which would appear to be the best option, since that is supposed to always show the desktop. This is working here predictably.
