Hello,
Then stay away from a a rolling release, as a beginner won't know what to do if a a package upgrade cause an
unexpected behavior of the system (including not being able to boot, or loss of sound), which will happen
sooner or later.

Hello,
I was looking for a rolling release to hopefully make the process of upgrading less painful, as it can be
in Ubuntu and Fedora. This is for an individual I know, who lacks the skills to get out of jams where the
system won't boot, there may be errors about the kernel, etc. It seems that Debian may be the answer, with
the text installer.
Thank you everyone for your feedback on this topic. Any additional feedback is appreciated.

Hello,
To be able to help you better please answer these two questions:
1) What do you really mean by "rolling release"?
2) Why do you want a rolling release?
Cheers,
Didier
