Re: [orca-list] Master and TB nightly strange behaviour in Thunderbird

So is this specific to braille only?

I'm not sure I understand the problem.

I wrote "hello world" then I pressed Enter, which caused the cursor to move to the newly-created line under "hello world".

It should, but it does not here. In braille, instead of goigng to the beginning of the newly created line, I see a space. The cursor movement happens only after pressing twice Enter. Even after this, Orca says "newline" at the en dod the latest written line. Even sometimes: "newline, newline" and the rest of the message. Browsing with the arrow keys is not relevant (I no longer the blank lines but the focus moves to right on the line if I press down key).

Note: i write in HTML but reproduce in texte mode.

Arrows are working
for me as expected. I am using Thunderbird nightly/daily with Orca master.

So am I doing the wrong steps?

Other sanity checks: What happens if you use Orca stable with Thunderbird nightly? Do things work as expected? What happens if you use Thunderbird stable with Orca master?

Orca stable + nightly: I dont reproduce the buggy behaviour.

Dont have a TB stable easily available to try.

I need some hints please and thank you. :)

Tell me if it helps. I will send a .out otherwise

I'm reproducing the issue too. This is not clear for me if it's an Orca or Thunderbird issue.

Hi,

1. Create a new message
2. Switch in the main write window
3. Write a line
4. Press Enter to go back on the following line

Results:
- the caret stays on the same line but inserts a space
- if I write on the new line, the caret comes back on its good position
- If I press again Enter, the caret skips a whilet line, but on the written line, Orca says "new line" at the end.

Actually I suspect a Thunderbird bug. But I prefer a confirmation here.

Thanks

Regards
