I'm not sure I understand the problem.

I wrote "hello world" then I pressed Enter, which caused the cursor to 
move to the newly-created line under "hello world". Arrows are working 
for me as expected. I am using Thunderbird nightly/daily with Orca master.

So am I doing the wrong steps?

Other sanity checks: What happens if you use Orca stable with 
Thunderbird nightly? Do things work as expected? What happens if you use 
Thunderbird stable with Orca master?

I need some hints please and thank you. :)
