Hi Joanie and Alexander.
Today I downloaded the latest version of the code-insiders and from then
on I couldn't reproduce the problem anymore. It's too early to celebrate
but it looks like the problem would have been fixed. A change in this
version is that it uses version 11.0.5 of electron instead of version
11.0.3 that was used in previous versions.

In general, both. But for the purpose of testing, I used the latest
code insiders build.

Hi Joanie.
Do you build VSCode in your machine or do you use a downloaded
version
of VSCode?
I use a downloaded version.

I confirm that I am having the exact same problem reported by
Alexander.
The problem happens with both orca master and orca 3.8.1, and
contrary
to what I reported earlier, it doesn't matter how I run code-
insiders.
Thanks.

Hi Alexander and Joanie.
hello josé.
Do you use the -n flag when start VScode?
sometimes.
Today I installed the version of code-insiders that uses
electron
11. Since then every time I run code-insiders using the -n
flag,
the orca is muted.
for me it's not every time. i launched it 6 times. and didn't
get
orca
to hang.
To reproduce try the following steps:
1. Launch gnome-terminal or an equivalent.
2. Type code-insiders -n and press enter.
on my environment I need to restart orca.
as I said - I could not reproduce this. let's see what Joanie
says.

Hi Joanie.
As we say here in Brazil, the problem was between the
chair and
the keyboard.
Instead of call code-insiders present in the bin
folder,
I was
calling code-insiders present in the VScode folder.
As soon as I called the code-insiders present in the
bin
folder
the problem was solved.
Thank you very much and forgive me for the noise.
unfortunately, this is not entirely true, I am sure
that I
am
running VSCode
correctly, but still in 1 out of 8 cases the orca may
freeze
