BTW, I just worked around a missing Gtk event for tables -- totally
different issue. But I wonder if that fix will improve the situation you
describe. So could you please pull master and try again?

Are you in list view in all the folders? If I'm on icon view I don't
reproduce the issue. As icon view is mostly a "spatial view" we're
using list view by default.
